AAMG & LODD: Scaling Hybrid VTOL Cargo Operations Across Europe and the Middle East
Ambitious Air Mobility Group (AAMG) is partnering with LODD Autonomous, an Abu Dhabi–headquartered aerospace company developing next-generation autonomous cargo aircraft for middle-mile logistics.
In February 2026, AAMG and LODD signed a Collaboration Agreement establishing a framework for the development, deployment, and potential acquisition of up to 50 Hili hybrid VTOL cargo aircraft. The roadmap reflects AAMG’s indicative interest in 25 aircraft for European operations and 25 aircraft for the UAE and wider Middle East, subject to successful experimental operations and commercial validation.
The Hili Cargo UAS
LODD is developing the Hili Cargo UAS, a hybrid vertical take-off and landing platform designed for hub-to-hub and middle-mile cargo operations, with a target capability of up to 250 kg payload and up to 700 km range. Experimental operational trials are planned for Q4 2026 to Q4 2027.
Working Together
Under the agreement, AAMG and LODD will collaborate on:
- Participation in experimental operations
- Fleet roadmap planning and logistics deployment
- Joint market development across Europe and the Middle East
- Integration within AAMG’s expanding vertiport and route network
The collaboration also explores advanced materials, composite optimisation, and production efficiencies, alongside potential application of LODD’s autonomy software architecture across selected aircraft programmes within the AAMG portfolio.
The agreement provides a structured, non-exclusive framework as both parties progress toward commercial operations.
